Young Researchers Symposium Kaiserslautern

Sara Kolbenschlag and Nina Röder won a poster award at the Young Researchers Symposium in Kaiserslautern.

In the course of the fusion of the TU Kaiserslautern and the University of Landau, young scientists from the University of Koblenz-Landau, Landau Campus, were allowed to participate in the symposium for the first time. Although the young scientists from the Landau Campus were outnumbered by the young researchers from Kaiserslautern, they were able to bring home two of the highly coveted prizes for scientific posters. Sara Kolbenschlag won the 1st prize and Nina Röder the 3rd prize. We congratulate them on their success!


Visit by State Secretary MWG Dr. Denis Alt

As part of his summer trip, State Secretary Dr. Denis Alt (MWG, RLP) visited the riparian stream mesocosm (RSM) experimental facility. Nina Röder used two current research projects to illustrate the functioning of the mesocosm facility and the concept of the DFG research training group SystemLink. SETAC Europe 2021


Verena Gerstle, member of the SystemLink Ph.D. student group, won the poster award at the SETAC meeting. She presented her poster entitled: “Specific mosquito control agent Reduction of non-target organisms Chironomidae and Odonata observed in semi-field mesocosms treated with Bacillus thuringiensis var. israelensis. Virtual Research Workshop on Aquatic-Terrestrial Linkage, January 2021

On 28 and 29 January 2021, SystemLink held the Virtual Research Workshop on anthropogenic alterations of aquatic-terrestrial linkages. The event was attended by 11 guest speakers working on different aspects related to SystemLink ‘s research field.

About 150 people registered for this workshop – the second organized by SystemLink – that aimed to promote both scientific exchange and enable subject-specific and social networking especially during this challenging time.

In this workshop, students from related fields had the opportunity to gain detailed insight into the research topics of SystemLink and different institutions around the world, as well as the possibility to get in contact with associated persons.

Presentation of Joint-pot experiment, July 2020

System Link presented the longterm Joint-Pot Experiment on the area of the Julius-Kühn-Institut in Siebeldingen under the presence of the State Secretary of the MWG (Ministerium für Wissenschaft und Gesundheit – Ministery for science and health) Dr. Denis Alt.

Despite the rain, the doctoral students were able to convey to all guests the content and importance of the experiment for System Link .

Online Autumn Academy

SystemLink and the Online Project presents an international online academy on spatial ecotoxicology and ecotoxicological risk assessment – using an open community approach.

The online acdemy will last from 01 August until 31 October 2020.

Research Workshop, January 2020

Our first research workshop took place in January at Stiftsgut Keysermühle in Klingenmüster. During this workshop the PhD students presented their research projects with a focus on the planning of the first year.
